Get the Thursday Thirteen code here!THIRTEEN THINGS I LOVE ABOUT SUMMER
With Summer around the corner, I'm getting ready for the really Long and HOT Days ahead here in AZ! Memorial Day weekend will probably be the last weekend of double digit weather we will see until sometime in OCT. So I'm breaking out the flip flops, and sno cone maker to
GET COOL!!
1.) Ok I do like the HOT weather for the first month! The warmth of the sun always makes me feel good!Until it hits 115F+ and then my skin just feels like its on FIRE!
2.) Swimming in my pool. I grew up everyday of Summer at my Grandmother's pool. When school got out from Elementary School to Junior High. My husband and brother love to jump in it as soon as they step through the door and take their shoes off.
3.) Biking to the beach. In CA, in High School I used to bike to Balboa to meet friends. Spend endless Summer days and nights, playing volleyball, and having bonfires!
4.) Another fond memory of the beach when I was younger, was hunting for sand crabs, and building sand castles.
5.) Watching the sunrise and sunset at the beach and here in AZ. I don't think I've seen a more gorgeous display of colors than an AZ Sunset in the middle of July!
6.) Monsoon Season. It could be 110F, and HOTTER than HELL. Then all of the sudden God opens Heaven's Gates, and rain pours down. I love to dance in it.
8.) Home Made Ice Cream- Nothing tastes better!
9.) BBQ's- from Baby Back Ribs to hot dogs. Rib Eyes to grilled BBQ chicken, I love BBQing in th Summertime. Accompanied by potato salad, grilled corn, and seedless watermelon and
Apple pie.
10.)Walks along the beach! Running in and out of the waves.
11.) Summer means SCHOOL's OUT.
12.) Sipping STRAWBERRY MARGARITAs, or PINA COLADAS.
13.)I get to spend time with my kids. Either at the library, or just hanging out at the pool. My husband and I haven't taken them camping yet, which is what I'd like to do in the future Summers to come. Take a roadtrip, or camp out and do some fishing or hiking. Get away from the heat to the Mountains.

yay! I'm first! 115 degrees - I cannot even imagine.
I love summer too. I never got over growing up and not having the summers off.
I love summer too and hot days, bring them on! We don't normally get to 115 here as I usually break out at that heat.
I sure miss the pool...gotta talk DH into one.
I'm up.
I love the summer, but not the heat. I do love BBQ's though and am really looking forward to that!!
I love the beginning of summer, before it gets too hot (August, blah!). I live by the Mediterranean so we can also walk to the beach. Bonfires are not allowed nowadays, which I can understand but they are so much fun, it would be great to have one. Enjoy your summer! and happy TT
I can't imagine the SUNSETS you get! Never thought about that in AZ. But I WOULD be looking forward to your monsoon season. ;)
Oh enjoy the summer! You guys so lucky there are 4 different seasons to enjoy from. Its hot all year round in Singapore! In fact, you will die without air conditioning! Just kidding haha.
While I truly love all those things, I'd just skip 'em all and head straight to #12. On the beach...
Happy Thursday and happy summer.
My list is up.
115??? Oh. my. God. If we had that here, I'd move to freaking Alaska. But we have heat AND humidity and you don't so perhaps that's the key?
Nice list. Made me feel joyous about June!
Been through those Arizona summers...we lived in Tucson for 12 years before we got 'fed up with the eternal heat waves of summer'
My T 13 is up
I did my TT about summer too! Great minds think alike? Have a super summer!
ohhhhhhhh I love 8 no one makes homemade ice cream better than my Granny & I don't mind the brain freeze it gives me either! LOL! I also love #12 & ofcourse #13. ;-)
Hope you have an awesome summer!
Hmm...in Malaysia, it seems like summer forever. I don't like the sun too much. I get 'burned' too easily.
I hope you will post pics of the Arizona sunset. Sounds beautiful. Thanks for visiting my T13.
That is REALLY hot! I thought summers here were hot! The pools and watermelons sound awesome... We're gonna be at the library alot this summer too. Esp. to get out of the heat! Those strawberry MARGARITAS sound like heaven and the corn!! :)
Dancing in the rain seems like it would be so much sweeter after such a hot spell.
Watching the sun come up would be fun too, I used to sit on the front porch with my grandma all the time and watch the sun come up. I loved it!
Happy Thursday!
YOu actually make summer sound kinda good. :)
I love summertime...but it's the heat that gets me!! Georgia heat is HOT!
I live in Florida where it's always a little summer-like. But I grew up in Oregon and your list reminded me of how great it felt when summer finally arrived.
All that talk about swimming and the beach is making me want to go. I leave next Wednesday for Myrtle Beach!!
*pushing you off that lounge chair and taking your seat, "where's that Maragritta??" lol..Thanks for visiting my TT-shirts today!
I too love summer, though 115 is just a tad to warm. I hope that you have a great summer
My list is up
I love summer, but with the humidity in western nc, if it ever got 115, I would probably melt! I would love to have a pool though, it is on the wishlist! Thanks for stopping by my TT.
Sound so wonderful. We are spending oodles of time in our pool now too. Its great but I am sure that it will wear thin soon.
Monsoons just wonderful.
Take care
Yeah, yeah, I got all that talking about hot, pool, beach, sunrise and drinks... *sigh*
Could you please send some heat over here? I'm freezing.... Still not any summer warmth over here. Unusually cold.

thanks for visiting my TT - Happy Thursday!
First, I am so jealous you have a sno-cone maker.
I love summer also; I wonder if your 115 feels like our 105 here in Texas? I hope you have fun in the pool this summer - think of me when you are splashing away.
I love summer, but I don't like it toooo hot either. I am looking forward to going to the lake and having lots of BBQ! :)
